This one shouldn't even require a second thought. It's smart business to reiterate the will of the citizens with the "landlord." I look forward to a unanimous vote on this one as you all vote in representation of the hefty majority of your constituents.

This should be an easy vote. Around 65% of residents in every single district voted for fewer cruise ships with much stronger restrictions than the one ship compromise. The vote was clear in every one of your districts. In addition, our tourism industry is flourishing under the current one ship rule. Duval Street rents are higher than ever. Our economy and business base has adjusted to the current number of cruise passengers and it is thriving. The only reason to not support this resolution would be to favor a small number of wealthy business owners who only understand “more.” Please stand with the majority of your constituents and vote yes on this resolution. Thank you.

I strongly support reaffirming Key West's one large cruise ship per day policy.

This resolution isn't about challenging the authority of the United States Navy. It is a respectful request that, as those decisions are made, the Navy continue to honor a policy that reflects the values and priorities of our community.

We went through so much as a community to come up with this policy. Let's not re-litigate this now.

Reaffirming this policy sends a clear message about the future we want for our Key West. It says that we welcome visitors, support our local economy, and believe in sustainable tourism.

Please vote in favor of this resolution -
    Thank you Chris Massicotte

Please support this resolution reaffirming Key West's longstanding One Ship Policy. It respects federal authority while simply requesting the Navy's voluntary cooperation in honoring the clearly expressed will of Key West voters and protecting our environment, quality of life, and sustainable tourism.
