Good evening. I’m a Key West resident and an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. When rainbow fence sections appeared, they sent a simple message: You’re seen. You belong. I respect HARC’s role and our historic guidelines. But neighbors acted in good faith during your public discussions and some were cited while the process remains unclear. I ask you to formally suspend enforcement while the text amendment is completed, avoid penalizing residents who participated in good faith, and create a clear, temporary permit process with reasonable standards and time limits.
