27 26-5009 Approving the final design criteria for the Key West Welcome and Thank You for Visiting signs, located at the intersection of US-1, North Roosevelt Blvd. and South Roosevelt Blvd. also known as the "Triangle"; Authorizing the City Manager to execute any necessary budget transfers or amendments, upon consent of the City Attorney's Office.
This is a blemish on the city of Key West. These look more like tombstones than welcome signs. The sign should symbolize the essence of Key West or not have one at all. Big Pine Key has the Key Deer, Marathon has a lighthouse, and Key West has a granite tombstone? Just does not make sense. Please reconsider or put out for RFP for design build services.
