I don't know who commented under my name already, but I generally agree with the content. I URGE THE BOARD TO FOLLOW STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS, and negotiate a lease with Shrimpboat Sound Key West, LLC. As a proud recipient of a Ceramic Star for preservation and restoration of my home, I cherish Key West's commitment to historic preservation. And while getting falling-down-drunk at yet another bar along the waterfront is indeed part of our history, perhaps we could focus on the cultural and musical history of the location instead this time. Keep the generous check (I'm sure it came without any strings attached, lest folks conclude it was intended as a bribe), and PASS this resolution.

Shrimpboat Sound should remain as it is.

Please keep this historic piece of Old Key West, alive with the memories and magic of Jimmy Buffett. Thoughtfully consider and negotiate the Lease Agreement with Shrimpboat Sound Key West, LLC. Shrimpboat Sound. It is such a special cultural place. Key West already has way too many frozen drink and souvenir shops. Let Shrimpboat Sound continue to be an experience for all. Thank you for your consideration.

It should be obvious that it would be best for Key West to operate the space as "a recording studio, with
tours, experiences to book private recording and photo sessions, merchandise, live broadcasts,
live shows and the venue for private events with
100% of the profits going directly to support Key West charities." It would be better off to remain unused than to become a Spottswood run souvenir shop. Return that $25,000 cashiers check. Anyone in favor of turning something historical into a frozen drink and souvenir shop should be embarrassed. The city doesn't need another, we have too many already, it would be culturally detrimental.

Shrimpboat Sound should remain as it is. Please do not change this little piece of Old Key West, hidden in plain sight, and let's keep the magic inside alive. You have a very reasonable proposal from the Shrimpboat Sound group and I do hope that you'll approve their lease. People come from all over the world to record in this sacred space...let's keep it that way! Thank you
