20 19-4110 Request to be Postponed by Applicant to October 19, 2022:
An Ordinance of the City of Key West, Florida, amending the boundaries of the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map (FLUM) Category from Historic Residential (HR) to Historic Commercial (HC) for the parcel identified by RE# 00014010-000000, including addresses of 318 and 320 Petronia Street, and 802, 804 and 806 Whitehead Street, pursuant to Chapter 90, Article VI, Division 3 of the Land Development Regulations of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Key West, Florida; Providing for severability; Providing for the repeal of inconsistent provisions; Providing for an effective date.
My property at 807 Thomas Street is in direct alignment westward, excepting 1.08 feet distance from Petronia Street, with the parcel cited in the proposed amendment, in fact, the frontage of my parcel is the exact same, 31.5 feet, as the frontage of the Whitehead section of that in the proposed amendment; therefore, I request that my property also be rezoned from HMDR to HNC-3, such would be equitable and a relief for the commissioners from the rightful accusation that to solely amend the boundaries of the parcel cited in the amendment is "spot zoning". Thank you.
Just say NO! We have all seen this movie before. NO need to postpone, take up item and vote NO and free up available City staff time to work on the many projects already on their plate that benefit all City residents. It is blatantly obvious that this is an effort to increase the real estate value attributable to a single property owner. How could you sincerely consider further aggravating the BV community and the encroachment of commercial activity on its residents, you should be seeking ways to reduce the impact and nuisance of commercial activity on this important residential area and community.
