Please pass this ordinance as it is much needed! The number of people being pushed out of their rentals due to massive rent increases as well as owners offering shorter rental times (9 month lease or shorter is the latest trick) is frightening. I would ask if this could be improved upon by adding that no more than 5% increase per year is allowed (which would help with these owners not allowing annual leases so they can increase more often). This is an important step in supporting our local workforce during our current (ongoing and worsening) housing crisis.
