9 21-6660 *Approving and accepting the attached Grant Award Agreement with the Monroe County Tourist Development Council (TDC) to accept funding in the amount of up to $167,890.00 for the Mallory Square Sunshades (Public Facilities Category) Project, to assist with a tourism impact study and the purchase and installation of sunshades; Authorizing any necessary budget amendments or transfers to accept the funding; Authorizing the City manager to execute necessary documents upon consent of the City Attorney.
Shade is a great idea and will likely make Mallory Square more attractive and useful. 2 questions to consider, the maps attached appear to show very limited new shade coverage, why isn't there more shade proposed? And why is there a tourism survey funded? What is the content and purpose of the survey and who designed it and what will it be used for?
