Just say no. The number of vehicles (commercial and noncommercial) is already way beyond the carrying capacity of our congested City streets, leading to unsafe conditions and directly in conflict with our emphasis on becoming a safer and more welcoming pedestrian and bicycle oriented City. Furthermore, substantial study is needed to determine the appropriate volume of commercial vehicles for our streets. If anything, the City should be pursuing reducing the number of commercial vehicles already overburdening our congested City Streets.
