agree with postponement; ultimate discussion and decision should made with a view looking forward (what has happened in the past is not relevant) to determine the best possible use of this precious resource, commercial space in Bahama Village, for the benefit of the entire community, is it a health care facility or is it a museum to recognize the unique history of this part of our community? is there a long-term cost difference to the City's taxpayers resulting from the decision?

This is a qualified opposition. The medical clinic itself is a good thing. However, the decision to put this item on the agenda during a global pandemic flies is the face of reason and raises several due process issues. Simply advertising the meeting does not provide due process. The City knows full well that many people are opposed to the use the Frederick Douglas Band Room as the medical clinic. Putting this item on the virtual meeting agenda has but one purpose -- minimize public opposition. Many of the concerned citizens do not have computers and cannot access a public computer because the library is closed. Also, public transportation is shut down. Do the right thing -- postpone.

Facing a global pandemic and national health crisis it would prove nothing short of irresponsible for you as ELECTED officials to postpone this item AGAIN. City staff, leaders, those in the healthcare industry have made numerous attempts to bridge history and healthcare which were shot down. Whether it takes 2 weeks or 2 years to complete are you all as city officials prepared to take responsibility in the event of the NEXT crisis to say you did not allow for more health care options to fulfill the communities needs? This vote is more than today it’s tomorrow, it’s America it’s China, it’s the constant threat of attack and lack of healthcare to meet a NEED! DO NOT LET CHI WALK AWAY FROM THIS
